In November 2015, XFR Collective hosted a video transfer station installation at the 2015 MIX NYC Queer Experimental Film Festival. In addition to offering free video digitization services by appointment, the station offered a space to discuss strategies for preserving personal and community media. Visitors were invited to watch videos as they were transferred, browse our little library, and ask questions of Collective members. We believe that it is important to include “preservation” as part of the conversation around queer visual history.

After the success of the 2015 station, XFR returned with a mobile transfer rack to the 2017 MIX NYC Queer Experimental Film Festival.
